Local sailors will know the beauty of this archipelago, many having day tripped to the beautiful beaches. No time to stop on this record though, departing the start line out side of the entrance to Lorient, the course is a loop around the islands of Les Glénan in either direction, passing to the W of Base Pérennès and S of Jument de Glénan before returning to the Lorient finish line. In fine weather this is a fabulous day sail, in record breaking conditions it will be fast and furious, making best use of the current and winds effected by the local headlands.
