The COurse

One of the toughest ‘coastal’ courses in the world, further North than Cape Horn is South, and a great combination of tidal headland hopping and offshore legs between the corners. Plan this right, and with the right speed moving weather system it’s possible to sail downwind round the course. The rules allow for a start line on any pre-nominated line of latitude / longitude, with a requirement to cross the same line to complete the loop around the course. Break the record or not, a completing of the course is a memorable achievement.

Start

The start line is any pre-nominated line of latitude or longitude ( nominated prior to departing yacht’s berth/mooring )

Finish

The finish line is the same line of latitude or longitude as the start, and within 3nm of the point at which the start line of latitude of longitude was crossed at the start of the record attempt
Approx Distance: 1800 NM
