The COurse

The Middle Sea course begins with the start in Grand Harbour followed by a lap of Sicily, taking competitors past the shadow of Mount Etna, through the Strait of Messina, around the active volcano of Stromboli, along the north and west coasts of Sicily down to the island of Lampedusa, off Tunisia, before returning to Valletta and its ancient, heavily fortified city walls. The course is renowned for its unpredictable and rapidly changing weather.
